The Best Metalcore Album of the Year is…

Before 2025 fully wrapped up, we polled our readers to vote for their favorite metalcore release from a handful of our nominations.

The winner of The Best Metalcore Album of the Year is…

Mexican Pesado by Ladrones

Mixing in Spanish hip-hop with modern metalcore, Ladrones (translated to “thieves”), instantly caught my attention when I witnessed them opening for Bloodywood earlier this year.

Their 14-track full-length album, Mexican Pesado, includes hits like “Altar” and “Ando en lo Mío,” mixing the Latin flows of Bad Bunny with the modern heaviness of Polyphia or Spiritbox. Guadalajara pride echoes off breakdowns and romantic ballads; it’s the perfect balance of beauty and heaviness.

Ladrones will be embarking on a US tour in April and May, once again supporting Bloodywood, alongside The Pretty Wild and Ankor.
