Last month, Motanka dropped their debut single “Verba,” which showed traces of folk, doom metal, and more. As we inch closer to the band’s self-titled album release on June 9th, the Ukranian group are throwing down yet another sweet single.
In regards to the latest single, the act stated, “This is a song about Motherland, about boundless Sky, native Land, joyful Sun, and dear Mom. Wherever you are, you will be a part of the land on which you were born and grew up. And it will stay forever, this is the power of mother Earth which cherishes us on her hands.”
“Oy Ty Moya Zemle” expands on their previous single in that it demonstrates a sense of patient atmosphere alike post-metal pioneers Isis, yet also reveals a very human element through the raw vocals, folksy moments, and bombastic energy. Check out the lyric video below.
