Last year, Chinese metalcore act Inchaos caught my attention with their “You and Me” single, which dabbled in moments of prog, djent, ambience, and was most notable for the duality between male and female vocalists. While I was curious what direction they would go moving forward, their most recent single assured me that they are keen on continuing down the heavy, proggy path.
“Mist” again excels through the contrast between the angelic female clean vocals and the male post-hardcore screams. With a fantastic, instrumental focus on dynamics and variety in vocal deliveries, this project would fit in perfectly touring with Windrunner or Destiny Potato.
