Being one of the few metal bands originally based out of Iran, Confess is definitely a metal project to keep on your radar. Currently, members reside in Norway after being arrested in 2015 by the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution with charges of “blasphemy, advertising against the system, running an illegal and underground band and record label promoting music considered to be Satanic, writing anti-religious lyrics and granting interviews to forbidden foreign radio stations.” Their story is evidence enough that living the metal lifestyle in the Middle East isn’t always as simple as it seems, yet nonetheless, the group continues.
