Emerging from the forests of South India, Ihoera aligns with the modern black metal wave of Agalloch or Wolves in the Throne Room. On their debut single, post-rock passages are juxtaposed with the blackened cries of Chicago poet Carl Sandburg’s 1916 piece “Under the Harvest Moon” – “Death, the gray mocker / Comes and whispers to you / As a beautiful friend / Who remembers.”
With folk-fusion alike Alcest, and grim, nature visuals, Ihoera proves themselves to be a project worth keeping your eyes on.
