From the ashes of the Japanese melodic death metal group Gyze, rises the phoenix of Ryujin… now with “Samurai Metal” (thematic symphonic / death / power metal). While vocalist / guitarist / keyboardist Ryoji Shinomoto (篠本竜司) has always infused a neoclassical and uplifting sound in compositions, this new formation melds that style into a greater melodic identity. One can assume, such a stylistic shift was influenced by contributor / producer Matthew Kiichi Heafy (Trivium).
So far, the project has unveiled singles “Raijin & Fujin,” “The Rainbow Song,” and “Gekokujo.”
Ryujin‘s debut self-titled album will release on January 12th via Nuclear Blast.
