Truly, I’ve loved watching the rise of the Dubai-based metal group Callous Minds. They’ve dropped catchy, heavy singles, been vocal about the genocide in Palestine, and have presented a very unique blend of progressive metalcore and Middle Eastern musicalities. Nonetheless, not all good things live forever.
Callous Minds officially announced that they are disbanding, leaving fans with a parting gift in the new single “No Martyrs.” The composition is as dynamic and blistering as recent Veil of Maya, yet with a daunting lyrical theme. Amongst the prog-chugs, the vocals chant our and deny not only their own martyrdom, but also referring to all the innocent lives lost.
As other impactful bands have made the decision to end while churning momentum, Callous Minds‘ legacy sits amongst the greats like Isis or The Dillinger Escape Plan.
