Metalcore Album of the Year – 2024 (Bronze Tier)

Sable Hills
Odyssey
Released via Arising Empire
Japan
In the current era of highly polished metalcore, Sable Hills remains a glowing beacon for those still anchored to the visceral, yet dynamic sound of the early 2000’s. They bring both the aggression and nostalgia factor, while sprinkling in compelling catchy melodies. Aptly titled, Odyssey is the group’s journey back through the metalcore timeline, with features by Crossfaith and Unearth.
FFO: Killswitch Engage, The Devil Wears Prada, After the Burial
Metalcore Album of the Year – 2024 (Silver Tier)

Crossfaith
AЯK
Released via UNFD
Japan
An absolute theatrical experience of nü-metalcore, AЯK is pure fun and ADHD heaviness. Synths blare out, breakdowns shatter glass, and choruses entangle your brain, begging the question… why isn’t Crossfaith taking the world by storm alongside their contemporaries Bring Me the Horizon and Electric Callboy? There are no-boundaries in this genre-blender, featuring SiM, Wargasm, and Bobby Wolfgang. Thoroughly, AЯK is a certified cornerstone of modern Japanese metalcore for all.
FFO: Bad Omens, Northlane, Kim Dracula
Metalcore Album of the Year – 2024 (Gold Tier)

Reserate
Introspect
Self-released
Singapore
With Bring Me the Horizon‘s current reign and the return of Linkin Park, Reserate fits perfectly into the scene right now. Their sing-a-long choruses, abundance of synths, and occasional bleghs, all mesh to reveal the ideal hyperpop metalcore modernity. Introspect is an undeniable display of the future of this subgenre. Oh, also they just appropriately opened for Babymetal.
FFO: Silent Planet, I See Stars, Erra
