The Best Metal Singles of April 2025: Puerto Rican Progressive, Mexican Modern, Estonian Metalcore

We’re through the first quarter of the year and it feels like the world is ending, yet the international metal scenes are still churning. There’s been some insane singles spewing out all over, from Puerto Rico and Mexico to Estonia.

Bronze Tier: Metal Single of the Month – April 2025

Pridian

“Endless”

Released via Century Media

Based in Tartu, Estonia

Venetian Dark is coming – Pridian‘s first album since signing to Century Media. Gritted growls bark out with bitter attitude to the tune of industrial-infused metalcore on the latest pre-release single, “Endless.” While a crowd-mover overall, the track’s highlight is the final minute, spewing out a chanted midtempo breakdown with truly hypnotic heaviness.

Silver Tier: Metal Single of the Month – April 2025

Everlight

“Stronger”

Self-released

Based in Mexico City, Mexico

There’s certainly not enough Spanish metalcore in the scene, with Everlight‘s vocalist Beth del Viento as evidence of why the language perfectly compliments the dynamic modern subgenre. Her vocal delivery is soft, mesmerizing, and infectious. I need to get back on my Duolingo streak to fully comprehend the lyrics, but it’s hard not to be lifted to cloud 9 during the “Mi corazón hoy arde más que el sol, nunca más se apagará” verse.

Gold Tier: Metal Single of the Month – April 2025

Moths

“Gluttony”

Self-Released

Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Mariel’s blackened, yet lush and effeminate vocals create an intoxicating effect atop Moths‘ sludgy, synthy progressive metal. “Gluttony” is the five-piece’s first reveal towards their upcoming sin-themed album Septem, dropping this Summer. Mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Between the Buried and Me) with an indulgent video by Drew Storcks (Shy, Low), the new single cathartically itches at the spiderbite; it is addictively off-kilter.
