seriously, why is no one talking about this POPPY + BABYMETAL collab…

The future of metal is feminine.

At risk of sounding like a protest sign Tumblr post, I’m genuinely convinced this is true. I stumbled upon this concept in a YouTube rabbit hole one late night, and the proof is in the pudding – millions of streams on Spiritbox, Jinjer, and Crypta singles.

It’s about time we diversify the decades of sausage fest mosh pits.

Further evidence, Poppy recently collaborated with Japanese experimentalists Babymetal, amongst the project’s other notable collaborators like Bloodywood, Electric Callboy, Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Polyphia, Spiritbox, and Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy). “from me to u” is the opener off the Tokyo headbangers’ upcoming album titled Metal Forth, which is dropping on June 27th via UMG.

The single is hyperpop with distorted riffs, melodic choruses and angry screams. Watch the music video for “from me to u” today, directed by Takuya Oyama.
