From Krasnoyarsk Krai in Russia to the French grounds of Hellfest, Grima shrouded the Temple stage in snow-covered and folk-tinged atmospheric black metal.
Masked frontman Vilhelm and his twin guitarist / bassist Morbius took the stage with drummer Vlad Yungman (Ultar, Morokh) and guitarist Denis Susarev (Ultar), performing material off Frostbitten, Will of the Primordial, and particularly Nightside, which released this year via Napalm Records.
Their hypnotic and world-moving Siberian atmospheres first caught my ear because of the inclusion of the bayan – a Russian accordion. Just try one song and you’ll be hooked; I promise.
