Representing thall from Turkey, Ascera is a project led by multi-instrumentalist Melih Savaş. In 2021, Melih dropped his instrumental djent-fueled debut EP titled Obscure, for fans of Vildhjarta and Tesseract.
Aiming to mesh traditional Turkish music with modern progressive metal, Ascera has just begun teasing their upcoming album. The new single “Seeraph” is massive. Still holding onto the aforementioned djent-thall influences, the track is exceptionally contemporary with catchy, bouncy rhythms and some slight folk-fusion.
More impressively though, the music video for “Seeraph” is pure beauty and editing insanity; you need to give it a watch.
