I often find myself craving a band to get weirder. Black Spikes, on the other hand, instantly grabbed my attention with their stark Black Mirror visuals and ethereal approach to modern extreme music.
The Vilnius-based act consists of vocalist Agni, guitarists Yaga and Mazvis, bassist Sime, and drummer Titas. Currently wrapping a European tour alongside Moldovan progcore group Infected Rain, Black Spikes are teasing the release of Ydos via Napalm Records.

Appealing to both fans of modern metal like Spiritbox and also experimentalists in the vein of Kate Bush-meets-Myrkur, this new single is unquestionably distinct. The lyrical and visual theme reminds me music of the existential dread within a film like The Substance.
