Nearly a decade ago, a genuinely unheard fusion was debuted by the project Mute the Saint. Sitarist Rishabh Seen led the sitar-driven metal project in addition to wowing the online community with Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, and Metallica covers on his classical Indian instrument.
Eventually, the project was aptly renamed to simply… Sitar Metal, followed by an impressive ten-track self-titled album in 2020. More recently though, an unreleased demo has been revealed. “Main Hoon Sanātana” is a brief meditation in what Rishabh Seen does best, melodically serenade us metalheads with the beautiful timbre of his sitar mastery.
