Earlier this year, we praised the Togolese act ARKA’N ASRAFOKOR for fusing African folk rock, groove metal, rap, and thrash on their single titled “Walk with Me.” More recently, the five-piece announced their upcoming album Dzikkuh, to be released on May 24th, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix.
The second single to be revealed off the album is “Angry God of Earth,” furthering the band’s earthy might. The combination of frontman Rock Ahavi’s vocal chants with the percussion / drum duo of Mass Aholou and Richard Siko is truly superb. Additionally, dual harsh vocalist Enrico Ahavi ignites the Mother Earth-blessed track with Sepultura venom and fury.
