Earlier this month, the Hungarian duo Witcher unveiled Boszorkányszimfóniák, an album of classical pieces performed in an atmospheric black metal style, as if Wolves in the Throne Room flourished instead in the 1800’s of Europe.
German composer Carl Orff brought life to the historical cantata Carmina Burana, a twenty five-movement piece inspired by medieval texts and featuring the notable “O Fortuna.” Now, the Szombathely-based metal act are here to modernize the composition in an eerie, epic fashion.
