Hailing from Armenia, Manapart‘s alt-metal sound naturally has drawn comparisons to System of a Down, even earning praise from frontman Serj Tankian. While certainly holding merit on their own compositional talent and political energy, it’s difficult not to hear parallels in the aggressive Eastern rhythms throughout the band’s recent Red album.
