Donning bloodied flour sacks as masks, Unyielding Desolation looks as redneck sinister as they sound in their latest video. From Christchurch in New Zealand, the slam / brutal death metal five-piece consists of dual vocalists Jae Hulbert and Jamie Philpott as well as guitarists Zander Black and Cory Cattermole with Andrew Takenaka on bass.
“Primal Desecration” is the band’s debut single, and it is intensity aplenty. Whether you’re a fan of early Whitechapel, modern Dying Fetus, or the ever-growing slam scene, this groovy and battering track is impressively malevolent.
They just supported Pig Destroyer and Wormrot locally, but are also set to perform at the upcoming Symbiotic Metalfest alongside some other nasty acts like Organectomy, Depths, Horrendous Disfigurement, Teeth and Nails, etc. I really, really hope Unyielding Desolation bring out the masks when performing live; it’s a fucking wild look.
