From the north African country of Tunisia, Myrath has been intertwining folk, prog, and power metal across the past two decades. The group caught my attention from their album Shehili, which boasted an epic sound akin to Orphaned Land or Immortal Guardian. Now with French keyboardist Kévin Codfert, the group are readying their seventh full-length album – Wilderness of Mirrors, which will release March 27th via earMUSIC.
Their latest single revealed is “The Funeral,” an anthemic, groovy banger. The energy is as infectious as peak Peter Gabriel or Devin Townsend.
Apparently, the band will be embarking on a 16-counrty tour across Europe in April. In the meantime, pre-order ‘Wilderness of Mirrors’ on CD and vinyl.
