Personally, I’ve always been a huge Devin Townsend fanatic. And near equally, I was a huge advocate of Ou‘s debut album. With all that said, the meeting of minds between the Canadian prog mastermind and the Chinese experimental project is the perfect storm.
Upon announcement of Ou‘s follow-up record, 蘇醒 II: Frailty, it was unveiled that Devin has co-produced and mixed the new material. Additionally, the recent pre-release single, “淨化 Purge,” features vocal contributions by the former Strapping Young Lad frontman battling singer Lynn Wu.
The upcoming album will drop on April 26th via InsideOut. Enjoy the new video for the aforementioned single, directed by Zhang Xin.
