From Yaroslavl, the historic city northeast of Moscow and home to The Nizhegorodsky Chikatilo serial killer, Falsegiver has been representing Russian modern metal since their debut single “Очищение” seven years ago. Last year, the Faith, Hope, Love, Death album ranked high as one of the best metalcore releases, a Darko-like banger by Ape on the Rocket, who reside in the Russian exclave oblast of Kaliningrad – disconnected from the Motherland and surrounded by Poland and Lithuania.
On the new single “Голод” (translated to “Hunger”), the two groups merge together with a revived Slipknot meets Sworn In energy for the new generation. With Emmure vocals that get under your skin, the track could easily be blamed for blood in the pit at a basement show.
