Following the footsteps of John Petrucci or Plini, Solan-based prog guitarist Sutej Singh surfaced on his chart-topping debut album The Emerging, mixed by Christian ‘Moschus’ Moos (Delain, Haken) and mastered by Joachim Ehrig (Grobschnitt). Later, the guitarist opened for Steve Vai in India.
Dedicated to the goddess – Saraswati, the new single “Kaadambari” reveals Sutej exploring his instrumental rock / metal music experience with Indian classical vocals, provided by Nandini Srikar. Porcupine Tree-like prog heaviness and folk-fusion akin to Ereimang or Sitar Metal makes for a distinct, serene experience.
Shout-out to notable contributors including tabla player Arpit Manaktala, video director Mudit Sharma, and dancer Shubhra Koser. Sutej‘s upcoming follow-up album is slated for April.
